About Comfort Keepers
Comfort Keepers is a World Leader in non-medical care for seniors. Ellen Smith and Andy Smith founded this local office in 2002, one of 700 worldwide offices. . "We were inspired to start this senior in-home care business because of own parent’s wonderful experiences with caregivers." Andy's father lived to 104, and was able to live at home his entire life. Ellen was inspired by the wonderful care her beloved mother received at several times in her life. Ellen and Andy's mission is to treat each client like their own mother or father, and to raise the ethical standards of the homecare field. Comfort Keepers is currently ranked the #1 Franchise in the seniorcare industry by Entrepeneur Magazine ! That's the 2nd year in a row !

Andy Smith, M.S., Co-Owner of Comfort Keepers, is our Business Manager. He has Bachelors and Masters Degrees from UCLA. He ran his own executive search business for 16 years, and has been hiring or consulting to the hiring process for 33 years. Only 1 out of 20 applicants — only the very best — are hired to become caregivers for their clients! One of Andy’s major goals is to raise the ethical standards of the homecare industry, and to make sure that seniors are treated with the respect and dignity that they so richly deserve.
Ellen and Andy have surrounded themselves with excellent and dedicated Nurses and Care Coordinators and other staff, along with their large staff of so very compassionate Caregivers and CNA's, so that they can fulfill their mission of providing the best possible seniorcare!
Interactive Caregiving™ is based on four primary pillars, which Comfort Keepers leverage to care for, engage, and interact with our clients:
- An active senior mind promotes independence, better mental and physical health, happiness, and a longer life.
- A physically active senior maintains strength and independence, lessening or delaying the effects of aging.
- A well-nourished senior is more energetic, both physically and mentally.
- A safe senior lives in an environment that reduces the likelihood of accidents and promotes timely response when illness or accidents occur.
With our Interactive Caregiving approach, we are able to raise seniors’ quality of life to a much higher level than typical in-home care providers.
Comfort Keepers is a CAHSAH Certified Home Care Agency. This is the certification that is widely accepted as meeting the highest standards of performance of homecare agencies in California.
